Potable Water Supply Solutions

Humes provides steel reinforced concrete pressure pipes for potable water transmission and distribution, including trench and trenchless jacking solutions designed to manage internal pressure and external loads.

Humes manufactures Steel Reinforced Concrete Pressure Pipes (SRCP) designed to withstand the combined effects of external loads and internal operating pressure, making them suitable for potable water transmission and distribution networks. Pipes are manufactured and tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4058 for pressure and non-pressure applications.

Steel Reinforced Concrete Pressure Pipes – Trench

Available in DN300 to DN3600, Humes pressure pipes are factory manufactured under controlled conditions and hydrostatically tested to a minimum of 120% of working pressure, in line with AS/NZS 4058 requirements.

Rubber Ring Joint (RRJ) systems are recommended for pressure applications, providing a flexible, watertight seal capable of accommodating minor alignment changes and ground movement. Pipes up to DN1800 are typically supplied with a belled socket joint, while larger diameters use an in-wall joint configuration.

Bends, reducers and cast-in fittings (mild steel, cast iron or plastic) can be incorporated to suit project-specific design requirements.

Steel Reinforced Concrete Pipes – Jacking

For trenchless installations, Humes supplies a comprehensive range of steel reinforced jacking pipes from DN300 to DN3600 (Class 4), suitable for microtunnelling and pipe jacking applications.

Available systems include:

  • S Series jacking pipes – High axial load transfer capacity with flexible watertight joints (DN300–DN700).
  •  J Series jacking pipes – High axial load capacity with flexible watertight joints, including interjack pipes (DN800–DN2100).
  • In-wall joint jacking pipes – Cost-effective solution for larger diameters (DN1200–DN3600) requiring a flexible watertight joint.

These systems support long drives, vertical curves and demanding alignment requirements, making them well suited to major potable water infrastructure projects.
