Access Chambers (Manholes)
Access chambers are vertical shafts that connect sewer pipelines to the surface, allowing safe worker entry for inspection and maintenance. Humes manufactures complete precast concrete access chamber systems to suit local codes, practices and site conditions, with standard solutions suitable for depths of up to 9 m in accordance with AS 4198.
Humes access chambers support a wide range of applications including new developments, connections to existing pipelines, chamber replacement, vacuum and isolation systems, air valve and scour pits, and overflow or discharge structures. Systems include precast bases, shafts, taper or squat tops, converter slabs, make-up rings, covers and surrounds, with flexible jointing options and configurable inlet angles.

Maintenance Shafts
QuickTee® System
The QuickTee® maintenance shaft is a DN600 vertical shaft designed for non-worker entry, allowing inspection and maintenance equipment such as CCTV to access the sewer system. The system provides effective heights from 1 m to 5.5 m, supports traffic loadings, offers a compact footprint for congested sites, and incorporates high-strength precast concrete with precisely engineered HumeSeal® joints to ensure watertight performance and long service life.
