Precast Arches
The precast arch system is widely used as a high-performance and cost-effective solution for mine portals and reclaim tunnels. Humes has developed a range of custom-designed arches capable of meeting complex heavy loading criteria and internal envelope requirements.
The 3-pin arch range has been extensively applied in reclaim tunnel applications, catering for coal and other mineral stockpiles up to 25m. Arches are designed to meet the mine’s nominated design life and require minimal ongoing maintenance. Conveyor systems can be readily attached to the internal soffit of the arch, and precast feeder chambers are available to integrate with intake valves.

Box Culverts
Humes manufactures extra-large span box culverts for safe access to mine and construction sites and for use as conveyor tunnels. Spans and leg heights up to 6m are available, with prestressed units and post-tensioning options providing additional structural capacity where required. Culvert designs can be customised to suit site-specific geotechnical and operational conditions.
